Scope of Work:
A “roofing contractor” means a contractor whose services are unlimited in the roofing trade. Roofing contractors have the experience, knowledge, and skill to install, maintain, repair, alter, extend, or design and use materials and items used in the installation, maintenance, extension, and alteration of all kinds of roofing, waterproofing, and coating, except when coating is not represented to protect, repair, waterproof, stop leaks, or extend the life of the roof. The scope of work of a roofing contractor also includes required roof-deck attachments and any repair or replacement of wood roof sheathing or fascia as needed during roof repair or replacement.
Obtaining a Roofing Contractor License in Florida
Below is a breakdown of the experience requirements:
* 4 years of project time as a W2 employee of a licensed Roofing contractor (unless you worked in a state that did/does not require a license).
* Can substitute up to 3 years of college credits from an accredited college.
* College credits do not have to be construction related!
* Time is calculated by Employment Date.
* Check off at least 3 of the 5 Elements:
* Shingles
* Metal
* Tile
* Concrete
* Solar Tile
* Check off all the following Elements:
* Single-ply Systems
* Underlayment
* Insulation (tapered, flat, foam)
* Roof Penetrations
* Parapet Walls
* Flashings
* Sheathing & Framing Repairs
